The promenade
the promenade
The Terrace Promenade is a name that isn’t universally used for this area of Queens Park but anyone who knows the park will realise where it is.
Arguably one of the flattest paths in the park the Promenade overlooks the fountain and children’s playground and being the highest point in the park it affords great views over parts of the Bolton landscape.
Benches are placed along the Promenade behind which stand a number of stone statues of which more can be read here.
Just behind is the World Garden which sits on the site of the old Greenhouse.
At the western side of the Promenade are stone steps which lead to the large lake and ampitheatre area whilst the east of the Promenade is a curved stone wall, affectionately known as, the Pie Crust.
